Circle\ Delete Concealer (pictured on
previous page) will cover even the most
stubborn under-eye circles as well as hydrate
and nourish the skin. Too much product
will only enhance poor skin texture so the
right application is important. Use a firm
brush such as Jane Iredale Camouflage
Brush to apply first, then blend and feather
edges with the Crease Brush.
Avoid overly frosted or too - shimmery
shadows as they will only enhance
Well-shaped brows can be the next
best thing to a face lift! Achiev ing the
perfect brow can dramatically narrow and
straighten a nose or distract from puffy and
crepey lids – literally taking years off a face.
FOR BLINC EYE COSMETICS
Use an eye serum under the eyes before
applying foundation to prevent product
caking in lines and a good primer on the
lids before applying eyeshadow.
If eyelids are on the hollow side, more
contouring is needed in those areas.
Concentrate shadow at the middle of the
lash line and extend all the way to the crease
in the lids to create the illusion of width.
When contouring the eyes, use lighter
toned shadows, following the natural
creases. Avoid frosted eye shadow for
your older clients.
Use a white or light highlighter near the
inner corners of the eyes and the contour
of brow bones to help lighten the eyes. I
recommend Blinc’s White Eyeliner on the
lower eyelids and around the tear line.
Using blue eyeliner and mascara can
make the whites of eyes appear brighter.
It is important to emphasise lashes.
Definitely use a volumising mascara like
Blinc’s A mplified Mascara – but before
you do, curl lashes as this assists in making
eyes appear w ider. A nother alternative
is to use false eyelashes.
Don’t use too much concealer under
the eyes as it will highlight wrinkles and
crows feet, making a face look older.
Apply concealer from tear ducts down to
the sides of the nose for a more natural
appearance. Use a dabbing motion and
don’t forget to blend.
Finally, groomed, bold eyebrows
frame the face and offer a more youthful
appearance. As we age, eyebrows fade in
colour and thin out, so filling them in is
a must for a more youthful appearance.
Using a good brow gel, mousse or pencil
will make a dramatic difference to an
older face, restoring definition and
str ucture. We recommend Blinc’s Eyebrow
Mousse (above) a shade lighter than a
client’s natural brow colour.
If a client has grey or greying hair, avoid
red or brown pencils as these can look fake.
Use a clear gel or mousse instead.
BABOR MAKEUP ARTIST
I use a highlighter to accentuate the eyes,
to ‘open’ them. I apply Babor Perfect Skin
Illuminator (below) to the area underneath,
from the inner corner all the way to the
temple for a lifting effect. Illuminator
contains mimetic pigments, making sure
the product does not migrate into fine lines.
The eye shadow should be a light,
natural colour. The selection of colour is
very important now. If it is too light it only
draws more attention to this area. Instead,
use a colour that fits the natural skin tone.
When applying mascara I pull the brush
towards the outer corners of the eyebrows.
This forms the lashes perfectly and
additionally opens the eyes.
Never forget to style the client’s eyebrows.
They are the frame for the face and can truly
lift the look. Use a colour that is a bit lighter
than their natural hair colour in order to
avoid lines that are too dark and bulky.
