Home' Spa and Clinic : Volume 60 February 2015 Contents SPECTRUM SCIENCE and Beauty has
released the Spectrum Lumière IPL with
SHR after three years of development.
Among its features is Thermo Electric
Cooling (TEC) to ensure continuous
operation of IPL machine for 12-plus hours.
“Because the device does not deliver
single, high-powered pulses but continuous
repetition with lower energy means it can
be used to treat white and blonde hair,” says
Spectrum’s Ben Skeggs.
“ These hair colours are unsuited to
treatment by conventional dev ices as there
is no dark pigment to take the energy to the
follicle and so burns the skin instead.”
The Spectrum Esteem is a top of the
range IPL and SHR that offers permanent
hair reduction with white and blonde hair
protocol, as well as protocols for acne, vascular,
photo -rejuvenation, and pigmentation.
THE SPEEDGLIDE SHR-IPL is a fully digital
system manufactured in Germany. “Imagine
doing a back in five minutes and consumables
below $5,” says Paul McLachlan of Laser and
Cosmetic, the device’s Australian distributor.
“ The SpeedGlide delivers fast, effective
results for permanent hair reduction on all
skin ty pes and hair colour, including white,
grey and red.
“It combines epidermal cooling with a
gradual thermal rise to the target’s critical
temperature, while remov ing the risk of
injury - and no pain for the client.
“It fires three shots per second so you
can do an underarm in two minutes, and an
entire back in five. The dual port machine
fires 300K shots with each handpiece.”
SpeedGlide is ser viced by engineers in
Australia and handpieces can be rebuilt.
THE NEW GERMAN Xenon Lamp
technology developed by doctors used in
NEW TO AUSTRALIA is British brand
Tibby Olivier’s so - called “ouchless”
“This is a whole system that soothes
and calms the skin, before waxing, during
waxing and after waxing,” says Jodie-
Anne of Morpheus Rising, the Australian
“The pre-wax oil and after-wax oil both
soothe and calm the skin and when these
two products are used in conjunction with
either the strip wax or hot wax it forms an
`ouch-less“ hair removal treatment.
The Duchess Soothing Wax System
can be purchased with or without The
Orb. This little tool has been designed
to create a cleaner salon and offer a more
hygienic treatment to clients. The Orb
allows therapists to warm just enough
wax for each client.
Once the treatment is finished the
disposable cup is discarded and a new
one used for the next client.
This makes The Orb perfect for
intimate waxing – and there’s no more
double-dipping or messy wax pots!
HOW SWEET IT IS
FOR CENTURIES Middle Eastern cultures have used body sugaring
for hair removal.
Now an Australian, entrepreneur K athryn Patterson, is showing
them how it’s done. Or rather, they are so impressed with Body Sugaring
Australia’s product and techniques they are clamouring for the brand.
“ We’re in the process of negotiating distribution contracts across
the UAE, Saudi, Qatar, Jordan, Jeddah and Kuwait,” says K athryn.
“It’s taken serious hard work and a commitment to invest ahead
of the cur ve in order to break into new markets.”
Kathryn was also invited as an international guest presenter
to showcase BSA and and its Smoother method on centre stage at
Professional Beauty GCC, a leading trade beauty exhibition, in
Dubai in January, with BSA guests on the Beauty Leaders stand for
the duration of the expo. BODYSUGARINGAUSTRALIA.COM.AU
Allegro Motion IPL delivers a guaranteed
250,000 shots per lamp (each machine
being delivered with one applicator head).
“ The Allegro allows three shots per
second, delivering fast, effective results for
permanent hair removal on all skin types
and hair colour, including white, grey and
red, “ says David Hammer of Karpati, the
“It offers permanent hair reduction. Most
hair will not grow back, while other hair may
grow back thinner and lighter.
“Fluence Emitted Equally Technology
enables the energy of ever y pulse to have
uniform energy density across the entire
output face. This ensures repeatable results
and remarkable safety.
“Substantial clinical documentation
exists on the web, but in short, the prime
difference between IPL in-motion over laser
hair removal is safety. Trials show identical
results in the trained operator.
“ These devices eliminate pain and
substantially reduce cost to the clinic, and
as such to the customer.”
